Lucketts Store - Fall Design House

On Friday, I traveled back up the road (for 2 1/2 hours) to now one of my favorite shopping spots, Old Lucketts Store in Leesburg, Virginia.  This weekend was their Fall Design House Event

A feast for design eyes, always.  I made sure to be there on opening day this time.  Prime picks!  This Design House has the Belgian style which has been holding strong for a few years now.  Love the pale or painted woods, the grays, the slate blues, the rustic vintage feel.

I went to my first Lucketts Design House back in March.  Similar Belgian decor, but all new furniture, rugs, hides, lamps and chandeliers, and very unique accessories and art pieces.

Every item is for sale and is take same day.  I picked up the coat rack in the back of the picture above.  It's a half coat rack, meant to go flush against a wall.  How fabulous is that??  Putting it in my foyer my daughter and I to hang (only our sweetest and most worthy) bags and raincoats.

Saw this rocking bed at High Point Market last spring.  Takes a special room and a unique client to make this purchase.  Love, love the black bar stools in the back of the room.

And this bust.. of Mozart?..  I've been into marble, plaster, and chalk busts lately.  Thought he was pretty cool, but a bit angry, or maybe just deep in thought....

And the deep, metal framed mirror.  I'd be hard pressed to not love everything at Old Lucketts Design House.

...after the outside vendors, there's the main Old Lucketts Store, separate from the Design House.  The Store is open daily, where the Design House is only open on scheduled weekends.

Design House

On Sunday, I took my daughter and my dear friend, Amy to the Charlottesville Design House.  It's a wonderful event that supports our community Shelter for Help in Emergency with a mission over the past 30 plus years to end domestic violence, while providing safe shelter for those in need.  This is the second year of the Design House event that kicked off in early May and was open through May 22nd.  I was able to catch it on the last day.  So glad I did, it was inspiring!

The Mint Springs Farm house was built in 1920 and sits on 121 acres in western Albemarle County, Virginia.

While photography was not allowed, I was generously given permission to take small, vignette photos to post on my blog.

There were 17 designers in all.

The back staircase had a charming arched door and a stunning old world mural with a rugged rope handrail.

We were told the design inspiration came from the Chronicles of Narnia
